As a songwriter and musician i have been looking forward to the launch of this keyboard for some time..

If you intend to buy korg pa3x or korg pa3x pro i hope this review will help you decide.

Korg’s PA arranger keyboards have long been acknowledged as the best arranger keyboards around and are used the world over by thousands of pro musicians.

This latest version promises to raise the bar once again.

There are many improvements and completely new features.

First off, there is a new TFT Colour Touch Screen, which is much easier to read and navigate.There are more than 1100 outstanding new sounds which include, an all new stereo grand piano. All new electric pianos from the acclaimed KORG SV-1 stage piano; new wind instruments, basses and guitars.More than 100 Drum kits with “Real Ambience” give life and texture to any chosen rhythm section.

Up to 8 stereo digital multi effects can now be used with more than 140 presets available.

The PA3X features TC-Helicons® latest voice processor which can provide up to 4 realistic voices plus 2 doubled harmonies.

More than 400 dynamic and adaptable styles are available right out of the box.

Each one of these styles has 4 “fill and break” patterns, which can be automatically called up as you move between variations.

Another new function, “Chord Sequencer”, allows you to record chord progressions on-the-fly, so you can you to immediately play along with your own chord sequence.

More new technology drives an Advanced Vocal Remover.

This feature allows vocals to be removed from MP3 files easily while keeping the original stereo image of the song.

The enhanced 16 track sequencer allows increased levels of sequencing, and allows quick and easy song creation using the “Backing Sequence function“.

This new feature permits you to record an entire performance! You can run a song, play the keyboard, sing along and record everything as you go in MP3 format which can be stored on an external USB device or in the internal Hard Disk (76 version only – optional for the 61 key version).

The new “Songbook” feature is a fully programmable and searchable Music Database. Each entry contains all the settings required to play a particular song. A single entry can recall a Style, a MIDI file or an MP3, along with all the other performance parameters needed for perfect song playback.

Sufficed to say though, the Pa3X is one awesome piece of kit.

It is a complete studio/performance solution, which takes the technical nightmare and know how out of recording or performing your work. Which in turn allows you to concentrate on the most important factor…Being creative!!
